Lynda Kinkade is an anchor for CNN International based at the network’s headquarters in Atlanta. She anchors CNN Newsroom on Friday and Saturday at 10am, 11am and 1pm ET, and can also be seen filling in on other programs including Connect the World.

Since joining CNN in 2014, Kinkade has anchored countless breaking news stories including the Israel-Hamas war, the Russian invasion of Ukraine, violent protests from Hong Kong to Chile, terror attacks in Europe, Africa and the Middle East, Hurricanes Florence, Harvey and Maria and the victory against ISIS in the Iraqi city of Mosul. She has also reportedly extensively on the Trump administration, Russian interference in the 2016 election and subsequent impeachment inquiry.

In the wake of the Paris terror attacks in 2015, Kinkade anchored CNN’s breaking news coverage across both CNN/U.S. and CNN International, contributing to the network’s 2016 Royal Television Society’s award for Best Breaking News Coverage.

In 2017 Kinkade filed a compelling report on the opioid crisis in the U.S., which was one of the most clicked on stories on CNN Digital. She was also part of CNN’s breaking news coverage of the Manchester concert attack, which was nominated for an Emmy Award, and secured an exclusive interview with Muhammad Ali’s twin daughters after his death in 2016.

Kinkade has been instrumental in CNN’s coverage around The CNN Freedom Project, the network’s initiative that highlights modern-day slavery, reporting live from schools raising awareness of human trafficking for #MyFreedomDay and from the U.S. State Department around its annual Trafficking in Persons Report.

Before joining CNN, Kinkade worked for Seven Network Australia, most recently in New York, where she hired crews and satellite trucks, pitched stories, produced and filed reports on a range a stories including the polar vortex, the deadly Harlem gas explosion and Boeing’s first space taxi. She had previously worked in Melbourne for five years on the network’s national public affairs show Today Tonight, reporting on stories like the deadly Black Saturday bushfires, the Australian Open and the G’Day USA campaign from California.

Prior to Seven Network Australia, Kinkade spent four years working across the assignment desk, anchor desk and ultimately as a reporter for the Nine Network Australia based in Sydney. She has interviewed a variety of celebrities and newsmakers, including former Australian Prime Ministers John Howard, Kevin Rudd, Julia Gillard and actors Russell Crowe, Cate Blanchett, John Travolta, Sylvester Stallone and former U.S. Vice President Al Gore.

Beyond her role as a journalist, Kinkade has volunteered her time to moderate numerous forums and fundraise for organizations including the USA Brain Tumor Alliance, Heartkids NSW, the Epworth Hospital and the Sydney Symphony.

Kinkade graduated from the University of Technology, Sydney, with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication (Journalism) with a distinction average.
