The seminar will aim to meet with the students of the college and introduce the framework of the civil society and human rights status of affairs in Egypt and the MENA region. The invited guest is Mohamed Lotfy and he is in a rare visit to Brussels.

Mohamed Lotfy, the executive director and co-founder of the Egyptian Commission for Rights and Freedoms (ECRF), is a prominent human rights defender in Egypt and the MENA region. After he finished his advanced degree in political sciences in Geneva he joined the international secretariat of Amnesty International in London for years. He is one of the main drivers of the Egyptian civil society organizations engaged in the promotion of civil liberties in the country. He participates regularly in seminars with the UN, EU and international organizations. Mohamed Lotfy is Swiss and Egyptian.
