To help its students get faster access to journal articles, Murray State University adopted CCC’s article delivery service, Get It Now.

Murray State University sought a way to overcome the frustration of students who had to wait a week for a journal article to arrive through interlibrary loan (ILL). To solve this issue, Murray State turned to Get It Now, an article delivery service that provides library patrons with the immediate fulfillment of full-text articles from unsubscribed journals 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Murray State successfully deployed Get It Now and uses the service to deliver requested articles in just minutes or hours. The university also integrated Get It Now with OCLC’s ILL Fee Management Service (IFM). By doing so, Murray State reduced the workload and time it spends generating invoices and writing checks.

Based on the higher level of service that Get It Now has enabled Murray State to provide to its library patrons, the university highly recommends the service to other academic institutions.

We are getting a lot of praise from our patrons about the turn-around time—how much faster they are getting articles since we adopted Get It Now.
