A multimedia journalist, Dominique Soguel began her international reporting career at Agence France-Presse during the Arab Spring and covered Turkey for The Associated Press during the failed coup of 2016. She began filing for The Christian Science Monitor the fateful year of 2014 when she moved as a freelancer to Istanbul, her second favorite base after Damascus. Her reporting has also taken her to Ecuador, Ethiopia, Greece, Italy, Iraq, Jordan, Libya, and Spain. Now in Switzerland, she mostly covers Europe with a particular interest in far-right and populist movements and migration issues. There is a chance tumultuous times ensue.

Dominique holds an honors degree in political science from The University of Pennsylvania and a joint Masters degree in journalism and Near Eastern Studies from New York University. She speaks English, Spanish, Arabic, French, and some Italian.
