Mission Statement:

To provide strategic, responsible and effective leadership and management of all CUNY’s financial and budgetary resources.

Goals:

• Provide financial management leadership for, and influence the strategic direction of, CUNY by ensuring that relevant, accurate and timely information and strategic advice is provided to decision-makers.
• Ensure the prudent use of CUNY resources by setting and maintaining financial management policies and procedures, and standardizing, consolidating and automating processes and systems to eliminate redundancy and deliver efficient and effective financial management services.
• Serve as an effective financial steward for CUNY by protecting and preserving its assets using prudent financial risk management, maintenance of accurate financial records, and ensuring compliance with regulations.
• Serve as a catalyst to instill a sound financial management mindset throughout CUNY by promoting financial management learning and development initiatives, acting as a business partner in planning; and implementing, leading and supporting strategic initiatives.
