As a university community, we all have a responsibility to address unacceptable attitudes and behaviours. Deakin defines sexual harm as sexual assault, sexual harassment, and any behaviour of a sexual nature that may be a crime and/or constitute student or staff misconduct.

We are working to continually improve and act on sexual harm. To date, we've:
SafeZone is our free app for all Deakin students and staff that connects you with our security team. It’s there for you to use in emergencies, if you require first aid or if you just need some help. Once activated, the app provides Deakin Security with your location so they can reach you as quickly as possible. It’s available 24/7 across all campuses, so you can get the help you need no matter the time or day.
The National Student Safety Survey (NSSS) forms part of an ongoing commitment from Australian universities to ensure student safety, prevent sexual harm in university communities, and improve how universities respond to and support those who have been affected.
