Besides preserving the cultural heritage, we also manage knowledge. We are curators, procurators of facts, navigators in an ocean of information, and pathfinders in a digital, networked world of knowledge.

Our locations in Leipzig and Frankfurt am Main are also home to the German Museum of Books and Writing, the German Exile 1933–1945 and the German Music Archive. As a cultural institution, we are committed to an enlightened, democratic civil society.
