THE AMERICAN GUILD FOR GERMAN CULTURAL FREEDOM – A READING FROM SELECTED DOCUMENTS

EUROPE AND US
In the second half of 2020, Germany took over the presidency of the Council of the European Union. As the memory of the nation, the German National Library was keen to emphasise the importance of Europe for our country, both in our past and for our future. This is why we accompanied Germany’s presidency of the Council of the EU with a wide range of events.

EXHIBITIONS
Exhibitions are designed to act as showcases for the German National Library. The German Exile Archive 1933–1945 in Frankfurt am Main, the German Museum of Books and Writing and the German Music Archive in Leipzig all display their unique collections in their exhibition areas. Together with the permanent exhibitions, regular temporary exhibitions invite visitors to engage with current topics in media history and the many and varied aspects of exile and emigration.
We have developed a protection and hygiene concept to make your visit to the exhibition as safe as possible during the coronavirus pandemic. Please inform yourself about the conditions on the exhibition page.
Reservations are required for the exhibitions in Frankfurt am Main.
