The purpose of this European mission is to support the Kosovo authorities in the implementation of the political and economic system based on the rule of law, notably in the areas of police, justice and customs.
The mandate of EULEX (European Union Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo) is to advise the Kosovar authorities to enable them to move forward on the path of viability and responsibility. EULEX aims in particular to establish a multi-ethnic and independent legal system, police and customs services. The executive responsibilities of EULEX are limited to the fight against organised crime.
