Financial Times says Egypt now one of top African countries to visit
Egypt IndependentOctober 19, 2021
The British newspaper Financial Times listed Egypt among five wild African nations to visit now.
After the return of tourist trips halted due to the coronavirus pandemic during the past year and a half, Financial Times advised its readers looking for unique travel adventures to visit five destinations in the African continent, including Egypt.
Africa offers unique attractions for those looking for raw beauty, it said, such as trips similar to the Nile cruises in Egypt.
It added that there is hype around Egypt as the much-anticipated Grand Egyptian Museum is nearing completion.
The report also highlighted Nile cruises, especially those on board ships that resemble pharaonic boats. It said cruises on these Nile ships start at £1,490 and are for five nights.
The other four nations to visit include Namibia, Kenya, Tanzania and South Africa.
The British government has eased the restrictions of the controversial travel list system and canceled mandatory COVID-19 tests for travelers who received the two doses of the vaccine, and those returning to England from countries on its safe list.
British Transport Secretary Grant Shapps announced that the red, green and amber country lists for travelers to England will no longer exist from 4 October.
Shapps said the new system would help “strike the right balance of public health risk management as priority number one”.
