How we develop our courses

We take pride in the rigorous process every one of our courses goes through before it is released. We believe that what sets Epigeum apart is our investment in bringing the best people together and giving them the time, resources and feedback they need to create truly transformational courses.

Collaborative approach

Our highly collaborative approach involves a development group of up to 20 universities who provide feedback throughout the development process. We partner world-class subject experts with our experienced in-house editorial staff and web developers to build courses that are insightful, engaging and effective.

Quality is assured through a meticulous review process, with substantial input from reviewers and advisors while the content is also peer-reviewed by the development group members to help shape and fine-tune the courses. A typical course storyboard goes through at least six iterations with input from over 20 individuals before it is approved.

Much more than your average online learning experience

Much online learning is merely a piecemeal of PDF guides, bullet-point slides and the occasional interactive item. This type of resource does little to help people learn and is generally unpopular with staff and students.

Epigeum’s programmes are designed exclusively for online learning. Our products are born digital; they are not adapted from text-based material. As a result, our programmes are rich, coherent courses, not just resources to be dipped into and zoned out of.

Rich and engaging content

We put a great deal of care into the design of our courses to ensure that they are engaging, effective and memorable. We arrange materials using our own model of instructional design based on Robert Gagne’s ‘Nine Events of Instruction’ framework, so each course is built around a regular and pedagogically sound structure.

Our courses are packed with:
