WWE 2K19 Features Rey Mysterio, If You Pre-Order
The Master of the 619 returns...if you pre-order.
WWE 2K19 is available to pre-order, and 2K has announced a special bonus for anyone who buys early: Rey Mysterio. The "Master of the 619" will come with the game for anyone who pre-orders as a playable character in a move that's sure to delight many wrestling fans. But he's not the only extra character on the way.
"Since my WWE debut in 2002, 'Never Say Never' – the WWE 2K19 campaign theme – has been a big part of my career,” Mysterio said. "It is an honor to join the likes of Kurt Angle, Goldberg, Sting, Ultimate Warrior, and Arnold Schwarzenegger as one of two WWE 2K19 pre-order playable characters."
2K says a second pre-order bonus character will be announced in the coming weeks. Mysterio, who will appear in the game in ring gear reflective of his surprise appearance in the 2018 Royal Rumble, hasn't appeared in a WWE game in four years. "As one of the most popular WWE Superstars of all time, as well as one of the most frequently requested in the WWE 2K franchise, we're thrilled to celebrate Rey Mysterio’s career, said Chris Snyder, vice president of marketing at 2K.

2K also announced new details about the game's special editions: pre-orders are live for a Deluxe Edition and a Collector's Edition, both of which will include Mysterio. For more details on all the editions and how to buy the game now, you can check out our full WWE 2K19 pre-order guide.
The game will release on October 9 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC, but anyone with the game's "Early Axxess" pass (included with both premium editions) will get the game, complete with pre-order bonuses, on October 5. No Nintendo Switch release has been announced, but WWE 2K18 did come to the system after it launched on other platforms.
