In-Laws, goodness Lucy has a tough relationship with her Mother-In-Law Diana. She can't do anything right and although she wants a good relationship she just can't seem to get one with her. This book gives a lot of insight into why Diana is the way that she is. She loves her husband and has two children and is very passionate about helping others but is so very tough to the people in her family.

"The Mother-in-Law" is a hard book to rate. I like this domestic mystery but feel disappointed at the same time.
I love the way the author retold the events and stories slowly. She wavered the timelines seamlessly together. The alternate timelines between the past and present explains how the misunderstanding led up to the conflicts and the ultimate tragedy, and the author stitched everything up brilliantly. Lucy really doesn't like her mother-in-law, Diana. From the first time they meet Diana is polite but also condescending....(or maybe not, hmmm LOL!). As the years go on, the relationship becomes more and more strained to the point where there is a physical altercation.....until one day Diana is found dead. A suicide note is found by her body but the police believe she may have been murdered. Could Lucy have committed the ultimate crime? I enjoyed this story and thought it was clever how it went
