Alexandra, you should be able to add any book yourself by clicking the tab at the top right.
Why isn't Robert Evan's "The Kid Stays In The Picture" not on this list? This stuff isn't the best, it's just new.
I would like to say how much I HATED the audiobook version of a couple books on this list. Most notably, "The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks." I really disliked Cassandra Campbell's accents and intonations. I think I would have enjoyed the book much more had I read it instead of listened to it. I also disliked "Gone Girl" because I found Julia Whelan's voice grating. My favorite from this list is "Life of Pi." I thought Jeff Woodman's voice was soothing and well suited for this book. I could listen for hours at a time.
This is fantastic!
However, who liked the narrator for A Song of Ice and Fire? He's terrible! I can't tolerate it! I stopped listening to the series after Game of Thrones because I "just can't" with him.
That being said, I totally agree with several high ranking votes, like Bossypants, Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me?, The Ocean at the End of the Lane, and for some non-author read ones The Martian and City of Thieves, so I've Liked this list so I can come back and find some recommendations for audiobooks for a few books I have marked to read. It's always a toss up (and based on as many votes for ASOIF I'm not certain the quality of these recommendations...) whether a narrator will be good or not, but I'm going to keep the faith that this list is legit!

I loved listing to The Girl on the Train.
I really, really reccomend it for anyone who is looking for a good listen. Clare Corbett, Louise Brealey, India Fisher all read. Clare Corbett, especially, was awesome!

Agree with the others, I listen to books I've read before so as not to stay awake caught up in the story. I find that the Foundation series - Isaac Asimov work great. Another suggestion Atlas Shrugged.
is there a way to have Goodreads only recommend books that have an audiobook edition? I keep trying to find series that have no audiobook versions or the audiobook versions aren't complete. Thanks!
One of the best combinations of reader and book I've found is True Grit by Charles Portis, read by Donna Tartt. Actually, I'd say THE best.
A good reader makes for a good audiobook. Depending on how attentive you are, the audiobook experience may be faster and easier to understand than reading.
I'm also interested in this aspect of GR.
Hopeful .
Cheers,
Doug
