Jon Stewart has been mostly off the radar since stepping down as host of The Daily Show last August. His particular brand of political humor and media criticism has been sorely missed in the last few months, especially considering the political rise of Donald Trump, a piece of cheese we left in the fridge for too long.
Neither Trevor Noah nor John Oliver is pulling off what Stewart did best—but someone else is.
Stewart still has his fastball when he needs it though, and during a Monday taping of David Axelrod’s podcast, Stewart unloaded on Trump, a man he previously referred to as "Fuckface von Clownstick."
"I'm not a constitutional scholar so I can't necessarily say, but are you eligible to run if you are a man-baby? Or a baby-man?" Stewart joked about Trump. "He has the physical countenance of a man and a baby's temperament and hands."
Stewart also had some criticisms for likely Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton, namely her authenticity, but reiterated that she was a much better choice than Trump.
"That's not to say that she is not preferable to Donald Trump," Stewart said. "Because at this point I would vote for Mr. T over Donald Trump."
Okay, fine, maybe that last comment wasn't so much of a burn. After all, Mr. T is a noted problem-solver and all-around tough person. If you still miss Stewart's succinct and cut-through-the-bullshit commentary, you can watch his full episode of The Axe Files below (though you should also catch Samantha Bee, John Oliver, and Seth Meyers).
