The multidisciplinary Viikki Campus is located in the geographical centre of Helsinki. Characteristic to the area are broad fields and the bay of Vanhankaupunginlahti, which is a popular outdoor recreational area among the citizens.
The Viikki Campus is the home base for four university faculties operating in the field of agriculture, forestry, bio- and veterinary sciences and pharmacy, as well as several independent research institutes. The campus employs nearly 1,900 people and has more than 6,000 students.

In addition to the University’s units, the campus area hosts several government research institutions with which the University cooperates. The University of Helsinki’s esteemed Viikki Teacher Training School as well as Helsinki Think Company are also integral parts of life and work on campus.
The student information point at Info Centre Korona provide services for all students at the University of Helsinki. Three Unicafe restaurants are located in different buildings in the campus area. Vanhankaupunginlahti bay area provides outdoor recreation and the library branch of the city of Helsinki is located in the Infocenter Korona.
