Coordinated efforts with likeminded organizations
The IHRA cooperates closely with other intergovernmental bodies that include Holocaust-related issues as part of their mandate. These eight organizations – United Nations, UNESCO, OSCE/ODIHR, Arolsen Archives (formerly International Tracing Service [ITS]), European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA), European Union, Council of Europe, and the Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany – are designated as Permanent International Partners, giving them access as Observers to the IHRA Plenary meetings and enabling the IHRA to benefit from their active participation in the IHRA Working Group and Committee deliberations.
Our partner organizations turn to the IHRA to keep abreast of developments in the field, and to gain access to the IHRA’s unique pool of experts. In turn, the IHRA experts and national delegations have the opportunity to cooperate with these influential international organizations. By pooling resources, knowledge and contacts, the IHRA and its partner organizations can ensure greater effectiveness in promoting Holocaust remembrance and understanding.
