IKEA and Pizza Hut Hong Kong have joined forces to cook up a new pizza recipe with the home brand's famous Swedish meatballs on it. Instead of simply rolling it out for all to devour, though, they took the collab one step further with a life-size version of the tiny table (pizza saver, if we want to get technical here) that prevents your pizza from sticking to the box.
The SÄVA pizza table fittingly comes flat-packed inside of a large pizza box. Once put together, it’s the ideal table to gather around and eat your meatball pizza off of (the instructions on the box make that clear). Once you get the box, open it. Easily insert the table legs in a typical IKEA furniture assembly fashion. Remember: Don’t use the table as a seat. Call up Pizza Hut. Order the Swedish meatball pizza, get it delivered, and place it on the table to enjoy with friends.
The collab launched with the help of communications company Ogilvy last week and has seen quick success, according to Branding in Asia. “We’ve been absolutely thrilled to see the launch [of] the new Pizza Hut x IKEA pizza with a fun, cheeky campaign that has proven to be quite popular with the fans already on the first day,” Ogilvy Hong Kong executive creative director John Koay said, according to Branding in Asia. “This is a great pizza, and this campaign really shows how collaborations can really benefit the fans – not just the brands.”
