Experience

As a professional trader, Cory Mitchell has been studying how markets operate and finding profitable strategies since 2005. He began his career as a proprietary trader, trading firm capital with the sole purpose of generating profits for the company. The job had no salary. Pay, and being able to stay at the firm, was entirely based on strong performance. Cory stayed at the firm for five years before moving on to trade independently.

Writing and sharing educational experiences has always been a passion for Cory. He started writing for Investopedia in 2009, was the day trading expert on TheBalance for more than three years, and regularly contributes to TradeThatSwing.com and TheStreet.com/Forex. Cory also speaks on the financial markets, including lectures and workshops at the 2015 and 2017 Canadian Society of Technical Analysts (CSTA) national conferences. He has authored a number of books and trading courses.

Education

Cory received his bachelor's degree from the University of Lethbridge, where he majored in finance.

Quote from Cory Mitchell

"When I find a way to improve my trading or other aspect of my life, I can't help but share it. As a life-long learner, I always want to improve. I appreciate others who write about their experiences, and I have a passion for doing the same in the hopes that others will be able to improve their quality of life as well."
