How to apply to IU Indianapolis

High school students and transfer students can apply to IU Indianapolis online in one of two ways:

While both of these application types are accepted, you should only submit one application. The materials needed and the review process are the same for both applications.

We strongly recommend you apply online, but you may also request a PDF of the application form to submit by emailing apply@iu.edu.

The priority deadline for fall first-year applications is June 1.

You’ll hear directly from IU Indianapolis about whether or not you’ve been accepted.

The timeline for admission decisions is typically 4–6 weeks after you submit all your application materials.

Create your IU computing account

About two weeks after submitting your application, you should receive an email from IU with your university ID number and instructions for setting up your IU computing account.

  • Priority first-year deadline for consideration for admission-based and competitive scholarships: February 15

I was a Bepko Scholar in the Honors College, which opened many doors for me. When working on an honors project with a professor, I made a lasting impression that landed me an internship at the Indiana Department of Health, and the Honors College study abroad stipend allowed me to learn about healthcare systems in the United Kingdom.
