ScholarSpace

Make effective use of learning technologies in your academic work through the services of ScholarSpace. We offer virtual and in-person workshops, consultations, and instruction around the use of digital tools and technology in learning, teaching, and research across disciplines.

The ScholarSpace location on floor 2 of Hatcher North is open for drop-in studying, group work, and occasional instruction sessions during our posted hours. ScholarSpace consultation services are available by appointment.

How we can help

Among many other things, we can help you with:

See our collection of guides for tutorials, templates, and more.

Schedule a consultation appointment

Visit our scheduling system to see what kind of assistance we can offer, and make an appointment for an online consultation. If you'd like an in-person consultation, please email scholarspace@umich.edu.

Attend or request a workshop

See our upcoming workshops, which are offered primarily during fall and winter semesters. These are updated a few times a semester, so please check back often.

Session topics might include dissertation formatting help, creating effective presentations, designing a simple website, using digital tools thoughtfully in teaching, and how to design engaging and interactive class lectures.

We can also tailor a workshop to meet your needs, whether it’s for an undergraduate for-credit class, a student group, or an instructor cohort. Please contact us at scholarspace@umich.edu.

Use of the space

ScholarSpace is a collaborative space where conversations and discussions occur. In the space, you’ll have access to big screens to connect your laptop — ideal for small group projects — and the white walls are all whiteboards where you can draw and make notes.

If you're interested in hosting small, in-person instruction or consultation sessions, please contact scholarspace@umich.edu to learn more.
