Middle East Forum Education FundThe Education Fund is a project of the Forum established in 2008 that disburses about $2 million annually in separately earmarked funds to researchers, writers, anti-Islamist Muslims, investigators and activists who work to further the Forum's mission – promoting American interests in the Middle East and protecting Western values from Middle Eastern threats. Funds go to some 80 recipients, individuals and organization alike, in the United States and around the world, including: Australia, Austria, Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, India, Israel, the Netherlands, Poland, Spain and the United Kingdom. Some of their efforts are kept confidential to prevent their being exposed to danger. Please note: (1) MEFEF donations are initiated internally; applications are not accepted. (2) MEFEF funds are separate from monies used to pay for the Middle East Forum's own activities. Recent HighlightsA number of MEFEF recipients work quietly behind the scenes. Others have had public accomplishments, including: Exposed Facebook posts of the president of the Students for Justice in Palestine which justified and praised the murder of Jews. "In a world that's trying to quell our liberation and self determination, the biggest 'F you' to that are Palestinians celebrating [terrorist] actions," said Nerdeen Kiswani. The posts were deleted after being published by Algemeiner. Committee for Accuracy in Middle East Reporting in America Elicited a correction by the New York Times, addressing shortcomings in its article about evictions of Palestinians living in Jerusalem. The correction rectified "lapses of fairness, balance or perspective," and was covered by The Algemeiner, The Blaze, Breitbart, the Jerusalem Post, JNS.org and the Washington Examiner. Patrick Poole Revealed that Saadiq Long, an American Air Force veteran, had been arrested at the Syrian border as part of an anti-ISIS terror sweep by Turkey. This led to screams of "Islamophobia" by MSNBC and others. But the Department of Justice and foreign media subsequently confirmed the scoop. Ad Kan Infiltrated anti-Israel groups and documented their abuses. In high-profile activities, the group (1) recorded Ezra Nawi, a radical Israeli leftist, saying he helps Palestinian gunmen kill Arabs who sell land to Jews; (2) revealed that the NGO Breaking the Silence has been seeking classified information from ex-soldiers on Israel Army tactics and operations; and (3) showed how Rabbis for Humans Rights uses U.S. donations to fund nefarious activities, including provocative confrontations with IDF soldiers. Investigated World Vision, a charity operating in Palestinian territories, and advised the group's governmental donors. Last August, Israel charged World Vision's Gaza manager with funneling $43 million to Hamas. Defeated CAIR in federal court when a Forum-funded fraud lawsuit against CAIR's national office was sent back to district court for a full trial. Soon, a court of law will weigh evidence that CAIR defrauded hundreds of prospective clients in search of legal counsel. Provided evidence to Israeli authorities that Al-Aqsa Mosque preacher Khaled Al-Mughrabi incited the murder of Jews. The result: Mughrabi was arrested, convicted of incitement, and sentenced to 11 months in jail. Lee Kaplan, Stop the ISM Infiltrated the anti-Israel International Solidarity Movement and other BDS-supporting organizations, exposing their inner workings and identifying key leaders, and leading to a new Israeli government task force dedicated to deporting these anti-Israel activists. Won a lawsuit in the Washington, D.C. District Court against Iran and Syria. The Court ordered those regimes to pay $178 million to the family of an Israeli infant murdered by a Hamas terrorist in 2014. "The criminal regimes in Tehran and Damascus are the biggest state sponsors of terrorism is the world," said Shurat HaDin president Nitsana Darshan-Leitner.
