Located in City Council District 9, Brook Hollow serves schools in the Northeast Independent School District, Alamo Community College District 8, and School Board of Education 5. It is located in Congressional District 21, State Senate District 25, State House District 121, Commissioners Court Precinct 3, Justice of the Peace 3 and Constable 3.
The Freedom of Expression Area is located at the northeast corner of the grounds at Heimer and Cross Canyon. Freedom of Expression Areas are specifically designated areas on San Antonio Public Library grounds where free expression activities may occur.
Library Freedom of Expression Policy
The Library was dedicated on December 19, 1983. At that time, the building was 9,000 square feet. Brook Hollow was remodeled and opened again on March 8, l997 at 13,074 square feet. A 2005 renovation added 1500 square feet and created a large children’s area. Major donors include the San Pedro Hills Women’s Club and the Brook Hollow Friends.
The Branch is named for the geographic area. The San Pedro Hills Women’s Club worked as a community organization to obtain a branch library in the San Pedro Hills area. Brook Hollow Library became the first library to be built outside Loop 410.
