Taika Waititi believes Thor: Love and Thunder could be "the best Marvel film ever".

The filmmaker who is currently working on the Thor: Ragnarok sequel believes that this could be the best film yet.

Production - which is under way in Australia - will wrap in four weeks, with the film set to be released in February 2022.

In an interview with Australia's Weekend Today, the 45-year-old said: "We've got four weeks left, I can see light at the end of the tunnel. It might be the best Marvel film ever.

"Thor is a funny guy. He's a good friend, and he's also someone that you just want to hang out with all the time. And I think that's all you really want from a superhero or a main character in your movie."

According to Screenrant, the film will introduce another set of galactic characters and the return of some favourites. Christian Bale and Russel Crowe join returning stars Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tessa Thompson, and Matt Damon.
