P!nk will be honoured with the Icon Award at the 2021 Billboard Music Awards.

The ceremony will be broadcast live from the Microsoft Theatre in Los Angeles and will be hosted by Nick Jonas.

According to Billboard, the Icon Award recognises "outstanding artists who have achieved excellence on the Billboard charts and have made an indelible mark on music itself."

At 41 years old, P!nk is the youngest recipient of the award, joining the likes of Celine Dion, Neil Diamond, Janet Jackson and Cher.

"As a little girl, I always dreamed about being a singer and sharing my love of music with the world," the singer said in a statement share by the publication.

"Years later, to receive the Billboard Music Awards Icon Award is hard to fathom! I feel so honored to join the ranks of music idols like Cher, Garth Brooks, Janet Jackson and Stevie Wonder. It's a true 'pinch me' moment and I feel humbled and blessed [sic]," she continued.

P!nk will also perform at the awards which is set to take place on Sunday 23 May.
