The family of a woman who was stabbed to death was on Thursday is still reeling from the shock of her murder in Hans Village, Mokopane, Limpopo.

The 25-year-old's body was discovered on Monday after she failed to return home.

Her uncle, Stanley Lebelo, told News24 he and his niece arrived in Hans Village on Friday for a family function at the weekend.

"We were told that she left on Sunday night to her boyfriend's home in the village. We were supposed to return back to Witbank where she was staying with me, but she was nowhere to be seen.

"We called her, but there was no answer. We checked at the boyfriend's home and that's where the gruesome discovery was made."

Lebelo said tenants in the backyard heard a fierce argument on Sunday night and then saw the boyfriend going out on Monday morning without his girlfriend.

She was found with several stab wounds and was apparently also hit with frying pan and glasses, he added.
