Former Proteas captain Faf du Plessis suffered a nasty collision while playing for Quetta Gladiators against Peshawar Zalmi in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) in Abu Dhabi on Saturday.
Du Plessis collided with Pakistan cricketer Mohammad Hasnain while diving to stop a boundary in the seventh over of Peshawar Zalmi's innings.
Hasnain's knee struck Du Plessis' head before the South African fell to the ground.
Several reports indicated that Du Plessis was taken to hospital for scans but he was seen sitting in the Quetta Gladiators dugout.
He took no further part in the match.
Du Plessis joined Quetta Gladiators for the PSL 2021 season which resumed in the United Arab Emirates on 9 June after being suspended due to positive Covid-19 tests in the bio-bubbles when the event was played in Pakistan in March.
