South Africa's new golf star Garrick Higgo continued his amazing summer by claiming his maiden PGA Tour title at the Palmetto Championship at Congaree on Sunday.
Higgo posted a 3-under 68 to seal a nervy one-shot victory over six players tied for second, including overnight leader American Chesson Hadley.

1. Higgo met nine-time major winner Gary Player at the age of nine in Plettenberg Bay and has remained close with him since then.
2. At 18-years-old, he was South Africa's number-one ranked amateur in 2017.
3. In 2017 and 2018, Higgo attended the University of Nevada-Las Vegas where he majored in hospitality management before ending his studies to concentrate on golf.
4. Higgo represented the International Team in the 2017 Junior Presidents Cup.
5. He attended Paul Roos Gymnasium in Stellenbosch.
6. In 2019, Higgo turned professional, winning twice in his rookie season on the Sunshine Tour - Sun City Challenge and Tour Championship.
7. In only his seventh European Tour start, Higgo picked up his maiden title by winning the Open de Portugal, which was a co-sanctioned Challenge Tour.
