Vanuatu's new PM appoints his new Cabinet

Vanuatu's new Prime Minister Bob Loughman has appointed his Government's new Cabinet late last night.

Mr Loughman defeated Ralph Regenvanu in a ballot in parliament Monday afternoon, with 31 votes to 21.

Our correspondent in Vanuatu said among the new Cabinet make-up are six new Ministers.

Witnessed by a full house of 52 newly elected members of parliament, complete with Speaker, Samson Samsen, Prime Minister Bob Loughman appointed the following the Ministers:

His Deputy Prime Minister, Ishmael Kalsakau, will be responsible for Internal Affairs.

Kalo Willie Daniel is now the Minister for Agriculture, Livestock, Forestry, Fisheries and Biosecurity,

Johnny Koanapo has the Minister of Finance and Economic Management portfolio.

The Ministry of Health portfolio goes to Silas Bule.

Bruno Lengkon returns to his former position in the last Government as Minister of Climate Change.

Jack Kalmet Norris is now the Minister of Land and Natural Resources.

Willie Saetearoto will be the Minister of Youth Development and Training.

Esmon Simon is the Minister of Justice and Community Services.

Mark Ati will be the Minister of Foreign Affairs and External Trade.

James Bule is given the Ministry of Tourism, Trade, Commerce and Ni Vanuatu Business portfolio.

Semion Seule is the Minister of Education and Training, and Jay Ngwele will be the Minister of Infrastructure and Public Utilities.

While congratulating all members of his Cabinet, the Prime Minister says he will deliver his address to the nation tomorrow.
