We want to ensure that the Society of Antiquaries is welcoming to all visitors, and we are committed, wherever possible, to removing and reducing any barriers you may face to visiting us.
We are actively taking steps to improve accessibility in our historic building and will be updating our website with accurate information throughout this process.
We welcome wheelchairs and all types of mobility vehicles. Our entrance is made up of steps, however we can provide ramps so that users can access the Society apartments. These will be put in place by our staff, and they will help you to enter and exit the building safely. Please contact our team on 020 7479 7095 prior to your arrival so that arrangements can be made.
Once inside, our ground floor has level access, and we have a lift which can be used to access the upper floors. The lift approximately 95cm x 105cm, with an entrance of 75cm across. It can only accommodate two people at a time, or one wheelchair.
If you have a carer or an essential companion, we encourage you to visit the Society of Antiquaries together.
The toilets are located on the ground floor; however, we do not currently have a fully accessible toilet.
The nearest fully accessible toilets can be found next door at the Royal Academy (open Tuesday-Sunday: 10am-6pm, Friday: 10am-9pm).

Getting to Burlington House
The most accessible tube station nearby is Green Park, which has platforms with designated level access boarding points and access via lifts. You can learn more about which tube stations are accessible on TFL’s website here. All London bus routes are served by low-floor vehicles, with a dedicated space for one wheelchair user and an access ramp. Buses can also be lowered to reduce the step-up from the pavement. The nearest bus stop to Burlington House is Old Bond Street/Royal Academy, which serves bus routes 14, 19. 23, 38, 9, N19, N39, N9 and N97.
Once you have entered Burlington House courtyard, our premises are to the top left-hand area, next to the Royal Academy.
