Nick Knight, the legendary British fashion photographer, had a fairly poignant weekend – it was nothing to do with any of his honorary achievements, more a matter of the heart. Last weekend was the wedding of his daughter Emily and her partner, Dan, in the balmy location of Port Isaac, a small fishing village in north Cornwall.
Saturday 18 September was the epitome of an Indian Summer day – the air light and breezy and the temperature unseasonably warm. All factors that will have contributed to an especially memorable day for the new Mr and Mrs Knight Harris. Nick Knight wrote on Instagram: ‘Huge love and happiness to my brilliant and beautiful daughter Emily and her absolutely wonderful husband Dan on their wedding.’

The pictures showcased a doting partner staring into his new bride’s eyes against a dizzyingly rural backdrop of rolling Cornish hills leading out to the sea. The sky is hazy orange, drenching the hillside, and the silhouette of an island can be seen jutting from the sea. Other pictures show Knight’s daughter carrying an abundance of roses as part of her bridal bouquet. Nick Knight doubles as the perfect father-of-the-bride and wedding photographer.
Lara Johnson-Wheeler, the PM’s daughter, was in attendance as bridesmaid, carrying the bride’s veil en route to the church. So, too, were a host of glamorous and gorgeous guests who had all descended on Cornwall for the special occasion. Slinky, silk dresses in bright hues and statement suits appeared to be the fashionable order of the day. An outdoor ceremony in a Cornish field between romantic, rustic buildings proved an especially charming and bucolic backdrop. The reception took place in a multicoloured marquee, coloured with what looked like a cascade of ribbons, and Mexican-themed white bunting. Roses that echoed the bridal bouquet decorated the tables. Come the golden hour, the very best photographs were taken, on what looked like the most picturesque day.

Nick Knight’s thousands of followers expressed their love for the photographs posted to his Instagram. Linda Evangelista, the ‘90s modelling megastar, commented with a string of hearts. While Danish beauty Helena Christensen wrote: ‘Congratulations how beautiful I’m sure you’ll be photographing that bouquet as soon as you catch it ’. Beth Ditto, the lead singer of The Gossip, commented saying: ‘Beautiful! You really see Charlotte in her ! ’ In reference to Nick’s wife, Charlotte Knight, an executive producer at SHOWstudio, and the mother of Emily.
Emily Knight Harris works for her father’s company, SHOWstudio, which describes itself as ‘the home of fashion film’. Daniel Knight Harris is a photography and film director. Together they have an adorable baby boy, Leo, who has recently celebrated his second birthday. Many congratulations to the happy couple.
