Queen Elizabeth II was Britain’s longest reigning monarch, having ascended to the throne on February 6 1952, aged just 25. In June 2022, Her Majesty became the first British monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee - an historic milestone which marked her 70 years on the throne.
