The Grand Mufti of the Sultanate of Oman, Ahmed bin Hamad al-Khalili, warned today, Saturday, against compromising on Al-Aqsa, and said that liberating it and liberating what surrounds it from any occupation is a sacred duty for all the nation and a religion in its necks.

The statements of the Grand Mufti of the Sultanate of Oman came in a lengthy tweet he posted on his Twitter account, two days after the announcement of the Emirati normalization agreement with Israel.

Al-Khalili considered that if the circumstances did not allow the Muslims to liberate Al-Aqsa, then they would not compromise it in any way, but rather they should leave the matter to the divine destiny, so that God would bring someone who would honor him to do this duty, as happened in the distant time.

He said that since the Night Journey of the Noble Prophet (may God bless him and grant him peace), the Al-Aqsa Mosque and all of the Holy Land have become a prominent Islamic landmark.

The liberation of Al-Aqsa Mosque and the liberation of all the land around it from any occupation is a sacred duty for all the nation and a debt in all its necks obliges them to fulfill it, and if the circumstances do not favor them and the destinies help them, then they do not have to compromise on it in any way, but rather they must call the matter to the divine destiny, so that God will bring someone who will supervise him to do this homework. pic.twitter.com/Bzql7cnNgk

It is noteworthy that the Omani Foreign Ministry announced Friday its support for the normalization agreement between the UAE and Israel, which was sponsored by the United States.

On Thursday, US President Donald Trump announced that an agreement had been reached between the two parties, describing it as a historic agreement and tremendous progress.

The announcement comes as the culmination of a long series of cooperation, coordination, communication and exchange of visits between the two countries.

The agreement was met with widespread Palestinian condemnation from the leadership and prominent factions, such as Hamas, Fatah and Islamic Jihad. The UAE has become the first Gulf country to establish official relations with Israel, and the third Arab country after Egypt and Jordan.
