Postponement of the Arab Games scheduled for Baghdad 2021

The 19th General Assembly of the Federation of Arab National Olympic Committees, which was held yesterday remotely, decided to postpone the Arab Games, which were scheduled in the Iraqi capital Baghdad 2021. The UAE Olympic Committee participated in the meeting, represented by the Assistant Secretary-General for Financial and Administrative Affairs, Eng. Azza Bint Suleiman, and a member of the office Executive Committee, Major General (m) Ismail Al-Gergawi. 

A press release after the meeting said: “During the meeting, the naming of Sheikha Hayat bint Abdulaziz Al Khalifa was approved as Vice-President of the Federation of Arab National Olympic Committees, in appreciation of her distinguished contributions, contributions and experiences in supporting Arab, continental and international women's sport. The agenda included the adoption of amendments to the statute. Arabic to be established in Baghdad 2021 due to the Corona pandemic (Covid-19), provided that a circular is sent to all member states for those who wish to be the alternative country in the event that Baghdad could not host the session, and the importance of communicating with the Council of Arab Youth and Sports Ministers was emphasized on this Concern ».
