Nokia Maps continues to be a major part of the Finnish company's overall strategy, and Flickr is the latest company to sign on to use its technology. The massive photo-hosting site just announced a redesigned mapping interface that will rely on Nokia Maps for its data. Now, when users geotag their photos or search through maps to find images from other users, Nokia will be providing the satellite images and overall mapping style. An example posted to Flickr's blog shows that the new maps will let users zoom in and get quite a bit more detail than the older solution. Flickr was quick to note that its continuing to work with and utilize OpenStreetMaps (one of the providers behind Apple's new mapping solution) — Flickr maps will automatically integrate this date in regions where Nokia's maps might not have full data available. For those interested in checking out Flickr's implementation of Nokia data, it should be live as of now.
