Reedsy’s “How to write a novel” course is brilliant. I feel it has equipped me with all the essentials and more for writing my novel. Tom Bromley is an exceptional host. His daily video teaching and learning inputs are inspiring and instructive and convey a powerful sense of “you can do this.” Weekly live sessions combine great deep dive learning, author interviews and live editing of students work. The opportunities to share with other budding writers on weekly Feedback Fridays are extremely helpful and rewarding. There is a veritable feast of extra reading resources and inspiration novels and books on the writing craft. Writing targets will stretch you but help your writing skills go to a higher level. A great website, easy to navigate. Thoroughly recommended.

I have spend about 3 years trying to self-publish my first book. There is a lot of garbage on the internet about self-publishing but when I found Reedsy, I found the only place I will ever need to go again.
The community there, the knowledge base and all the people I have spoken or collaborated with, have been amazing.

I describe Reedsy as being one of those sites that says "Hey, self-publishing authors - if you want to do this yourself, we will help you every step of the way. We will provide you with a ton of articles and informative videos and blog posts that will probably tell you more than you could ever possibly want to know about self-publishing. And if along the way you decide you want to outsource some of the process, hey we have a group of vetted and experienced individuals who would be thrilled to help with anything from editing your book to creating a promotional website." Reedsy really does empower the individual to go it alone, or to recruit a little extra help if needed.

I just finished my first collaboration with a Reedsy professional, an editor, and it was an amazing experience. I love that I can go to one place where the professionals are pre-vetted, and they give you extensive information about each one, including reviews from other people who have hired them. Reedsy gives you a "page" for communication and collaboration with your chosen professional. From messaging back and forth to file sharing, it was a very easy process. Now, I'm in the middle of collaborations with a cover designer and a copyeditor. I definitely recommend Reedsy.

Reedsy makes it easy for authors to find professional, experienced, and inspiring editors through a clear process. The level of expertise one has access to is amazing. Both times I've worked with an editor, they've had the highest standards and huge industry experience, and they've helped me see my work with new eyes. After finding a collaborator, Reedsy manages payments, so it was easy to concentrate on the work.

I needed some editing work done, and I love that Reedsy allows you to scroll through multiple reviews to choose the most suitable professional. The site itself looks good. I found it a little counterintuitive to navigate, but it's workable.

Reedsy is good for some things, however customer support for book editing/formatting is not a strength. Just accomplished what I needed to through kdp and sharing to help others. KDP is timely and responsive by phone/chat/email. My experiences are over the past 2-3 months, not sure of exact dates. (Update to address response by Reedsy): My issue was not about a book cover.

Through Reedsy, I was able to locate a first-class, experienced book editor. Reedsy handled all the arrangements. The fees were very reasonable, and the commission taken by Reedsy was very transparent. The site is easy to navigate, and there is a huge amount of help, inspiration, and advice freely available.

I recently published in January, using Reedsy to locate an editor. She was wonderful, and had great resources for me to facilitate my journey. I am using their site again to locate someone in marketing. I like the ease of choosing professionals to request a quote from, and the messaging system. I am very satisfied with their services and would suggest them to any author looking for help with publishing.

In the first place I was only looking for a suitable Word template for a manuscript, i.e.: line spacing, paragraphs etc. but when I came across Reedsy I got a lot more including live tutorials on a number of aspects. The professional consultations are also very valuable and would be vital for anyone wanting to self-publish

I had an editor help with my manuscript and he was brilliant.

I like that you can get quotes and look at the potential editors profile with details of other books they have collaborated on.

Then select what's right for you. Comms is easy and it all just works really well 👌🏻

Probably not the cheapest however I got good value for what I paid and learnt a load of stuff from my editor.

Just wanted to share a quick bit about my experience using Reedsy to find a ghostwriter. You know what? It was a total breeze. Seriously, it's like they've thought of everything to make the whole thing super straightforward and chill.

Finding the right person to trust with your story? It can seem like a big deal, but Reedsy made it feel like grabbing coffee with friends. We’re talking easy-peasy - a few clicks and I was all set up with a writer who's all about bringing stories to life.

So, if you’re looking to get that book out of your head and onto paper without the hassle, Reedsy’s the way to go.

The designer that I picked from their stable was terrible. I never got a usable product from him. The book came back full of blank pages, pages that were cut off, footnotes that were not on the same page as their reference, and a cover design that could not be used because (1) his spine design was too narrow for the number of pages he produced. and (2) the bar code omitted the price, so the book could not be sold on Amazon. Reedsy's customer service department was not very responsive, and Reedsy returned less than 20% of my fees with them. Avoid them like the plague!
