PLACING A HOLD
BORROWING FROM YOUR CAMPUS LIBRARY
* Loan periods may differ at regional, metropolitan or international locations.
** The maximum number of loans may differ at regional, metropolitan or international locations.
*** Guest access to hold items may differ at regional, metropolitan or international locations.
Borrowing items in off-site storage
Some low-use items are held in off-site storage. In our Library SEARCH, these items are identified as "Offsite Storage" and you can request the item by placing a hold
When the hold has been placed, the item/s will be available for pick-up from Wollongong Campus Library within three business days (please allow additional time for delivery to regional and metropolitan campus libraries).
Holds allow you to request items already on loan or held in off-site storage.
To place a hold on an item:
- click the "Hold" button above the item record
- follow the login prompts.
You'll be notified by email when the item is available for pickup at your Library (you must collect the item within seven days).
Students cannot request holds for items available for loan in the Library. Holds are not available for 2-hour loans or equipment.
Automatic renewals for students and staff
General collection items will be automatically renewed twice for students and staff, three days before the item's due date.
After two auto-renewals, students and staff will need to manually renew the item if they wish to keep it. If the item is recalled, it will need to be returned to the Libary.
If your library membership is due to expire before the 170-day loan period, your items will be auto-renewed until your membership expiry date.
How to renew
Alumni and guests can still renew their items manually by logging into their borrowing record.
Restrictions on renewals
Recalled items, equipment and 2-hour loans, cannot be renewed.
Session loans can be renewed twice.
