COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- The first of 1,138 cadets will arrive late today with stuffed suitcases and duffel bags at the newly opened Air Force Academy nine miles north of here.
The construction agency for the academy said 88 per cent of the $133,400,000 in authorized buildings is complete and ready for use.

The first party tonight will include 40 cadets. Another 250 will come Saturday, to be followed by 848 on Sunday.
The fall term opens Tuesday and classes begin Wednesday.
Temporary site of the academy since its beginning exactly three years ago has been at Lowry Air Force base at Denver.
