Justin Bieber has come a long way.

On Saturday, the "Holy" singer, 26, candidly reflected on his highly-publicized 2014 DUI arrest, which he called "not my finest hour." On Jan. 23, 2014, Bieber, who was 19 at the time, was arrested in Miami Beach on charges of driving under the influence, driving with an expired license and resisting arrest "without violence," according to police records.

"7 years ago today I was arrested, not my finest hour. Not proud of where I was at in my life. I was hurting, unhappy, confused, angry, mislead, misunderstood and angry at god," Bieber wrote in the caption alongside a photo of his arrest.

"I also wore too much leather for someone in Miami," he added jokingly .

"All this to say God has brought me a long way. From then til now I do realize something," he wrote. "God was as close to me then as he is right now."

Bieber then offered advice to his supporters: "My encouragement to you is to ‘let your past be a reminder of how far god has brought you. Don’t allow shame to ruin your 'today' let the forgiveness of Jesus take over and watch your life blossom into all that God has designed you to be. LOVE YOU GUYS WITH MY WHOLE HEART."

Celebrities including Jaden Smith and manager Scooter Braun shared support for Bieber on his Instagram post.

"This is such a strong message," Smith wrote.

"We live and learn," Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady commented.

Braun, who discovered Bieber when he was only 13, wrote "Proud of you."
