Stephen King has a No. 1 best seller with 'Finders Keepers.'

Here's a look at what's new on USA TODAY's Best-Selling Books list…

A 'Keeper': It's good to be King again. Stephen King lands at No. 1 on USA TODAY's Best-Selling Books list with Finders Keepers, the sequel to Mr. Mercedes, which peaked at No. 2 last year. (The full list will publish on Thursday.)

It's King's 17th debut at No. 1, and his 19th book to hit the top spot. In Mr. Mercedes and Finders Keepers, the horror master has ventured into detective fiction. In Keepers, he writes about two men, one a convict, obsessed with a Salinger-like writer.

In a 4 (out of 4)-star review, USA TODAY's Brian Truitt wrote: "King continues to tweak the hard-boiled genre in spectacular ways in Finders Keepers."

On Twitter, King gave props to fans:

The third book in the trilogy starring private eye Bill Hodges will be called End of Watch, publisher Scribner says.

in 'Blume': Judy Blume has gathered a lot of fans over the years with her books for young readers. Now they've grown up and are flocking to her new novel for adults, In the Unlikely Event (Knopf), which lands at No. 4, her highest debut.

It's Blume's best showing on the list since 1999, when Summer Sisters, another novel for adults, hit No. 1. (Sisters landed at No. 102.)

Unlikely Event is about a series of plane crashes in the 1950s in New Jersey, inspired by real events in her hometown of Elizabeth.

In a 3 (out of 4)-star review for USA TODAY, Eliot Schrefer said, "Blume's modest writing style is perfectly suited to such a dramatic topic."

Blume, 77, told The New York Times that this will be her last novel for adults.
