September 2020

News: A Sept. 24 article gave the incorrect spelling for the name of one of the candidates in the Camarillo City Council race. The correct name is Karlton Huss.

June 2020

News: A June 29 article gave incorrect information on the number of beds in the Villa Las Brisas farmworker housing facility. Before renovations, the facility had about 500 beds. After renovations, capacity was reduced to 441.

News: A June 13 article listed the incorrect newspaper where Quentin Floyd's ex-wife has worked. She has worked for the Sacramento City College Express newspaper and the Stockton Record newspaper.

May 2020

News: A May 19 article gave the incorrect bail amount for a sexual assault suspect in Oxnard. The suspect was booked into jail and is currently being held in lieu of $110,000 bail.

April 2020 

News: An April 29 article misstated the frequency of coronavirus testing in the county. About 1,500 tests are done weekly, with plans to grow that number to 4,000.

News: An April 13 article misidentified Jeremy Pemberton's current status with the business Discovery Ventura. He is a former co-owner.

News: A March 9 article contained the wrong last name for one of the families moving into new Habitat for Humanity homes in Camarillo. Their last name is Lembo.

News: A March 8 article contained the incorrect employment status for Dave Norman. He is the current city manager for the city of Camarillo.

November 2019

News: A Nov. 16 article contained the wrong last name for one of the families performing an adoption at the Juvenile Justice Center. Their last name is Provencio.

News: A Nov. 8 article contained the wrong day of the week concerning two suspects who had been released from jail. They had both been released by Friday evening.

News: Sept. 29 article named the parties of a settled lawsuit involving the former Ventura-based charity Cars 4 Causes. The only defendants permanently banned from operating any commercial fundraiser or charity in California were three of the organization’s corporate directors.

News: Sept. 23 and Sept. 10 articles named the attorney for a Simi Valley man accused of killing a protected mountain lion. The attorney’s name is Kevin Gres.

News: An July 31 article about the first day of the Ventura County Fair mischaracterized Robert Escamilla's role at the fair. June 2019

News: A June 20 story on a civil trial involving Vista del Mar Hospital in Ventura bears clarification. Some information was inadvertently left out. Juan Pablo Valencia’s statutory rape conviction in 2000 involving his underage girlfriend was later reduced to a misdemeanor and, in 2008, was dismissed in Santa Barbara County Superior Court.

News: There was an error in a June 4 article about the arrest of a Port Hueneme resident after police said a vehicle search uncovered dozens of illegal fireworks, as well as items related to identity theft. She was not booked into Ventura County jail. 

May 2019

News: A pull quote on the May 12 story about the survivors of the Borderline mass shooting was incorrectly attributed. It should have been attributed to Thousand Oaks psychologist Shannae Anderson.

News: In Colleen Cason's May 12, 2019 column, Raimonda Banakiene's name was misspelled throughout. Banakiene is owner of Crestview Villa II in Ventura. Her daughter is Monika Banakaite. 

News: A May 8, 2019, article about the state banning the pesticide chlorpyrifos listed the incorrect position for Adam Vega. Vega is the coordinator of the Ventura County Coalition Advocating for Pesticide Safety.
