Jennifer Lopez Answers Vogue’s 73 Questions

If you hum J.Lo’s 2002 hit “Jenny From the Block” under your breath as you knock on her door, she might just answer and take you on a whirlwind tour of her LA home. This Bronx girl may be an Angeleno now, but she still recalls her go-to bodega order—“ham and cheese on a roll with an orange drink (if you know, you know) and a small bag of chips”—and she’s extremely comfortable demonstrating how real New Yorkers speak to each other, four-letter words and all.

Lopez’s off-the-cuff memory is impressive: She can recall the outfit she wore to her first premiere, for instance. (“Rayon-blend polyester minidress”...and, well, you’ll have to watch the video for the rest of her description.) Over tea in her landscaped garden, Lopez talks Vogue through some big questions, including what she hopes her kids will learn from her, what successful representation for Latin artists looks like to her, and how she feels about the possibility of a Gigli sequel.

Of course, there’s still time for some just-for-fun questions, which Lopez answers gamely: She’s a bona fide Christmas nut because it’s “the most sparkly holiday,” her favorite music to dance to is salsa, and her perfect day includes reading alone in the bath. Got more questions about Lopez’s life, love story, and pop-cultural legacy? Well, lucky for you, we asked 73 of them.
