Mission Statement

The mission of the Santa Clara County Parks and Recreation Department is to provide, protect and preserve regional parklands for the enjoyment, education and inspiration of this and future generations.

Description

Since 1924, when Stevens Creek County Park was established, people have given their time and talents to help make Santa Clara County Parks special places to visit. In 2010, nearly 2000 volunteers donated over 40,000 hours of service to a variety of projects and programs.

Become a County Parks Volunteer and see how you can play an important role in protecting and enhancing our parklands. What's more, our volunteer events are fun -- come join us to "Go Outside and Play!"

The Docents in the Chitactac Adams Heritage County Park are the best to work with, I highly recommend the field trip program of South County. It is not easy to onboard with the live scan process but County Parks will provide the financial resources if this might be a good fit for you, too.

This is my first time volunteering with this organization. This was not only labor of love, this event also taught me about the struggles County is facing to provide beautiful and safe parks for all of us to enjoy. While working to wack the weeds, joggers and visitors showed us their appreciations and respects. This is definitely very educational to my daughters who came along. An very worthwhile experience working together with very friendly and caring Park Ranger.

Fun Experience the Park rangers were helpful and loved their Jobs and they helped us help them essentially and it was a great event that we were setting up for. The community really benefits from these type of events
