Specifying the language of a catalogue section[edit]

Would you consider Property:P407 or Property:P2439 as more appropriate to specify the language of a catalogue section? I tend pick the latter one as more general (i.e. Q234025), but I've noticed the usage of Property:P407 in Q42. We need a convention here as it's necessary for template builing on all of Wikipedias. --eugrus (talk) 11:59, 4 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Rename to Curlie or split?[edit]

@Innocent bystander, Otourly, eugrus:, dmoz was closed in 2017; at this moment @Koavf: set redirect url to Curlie, which looks like a different project (due to editability, which eventually should lead to link incompatibility). But how different these projects are? Wouldn't it be better to mark this property with Wikidata property for a discontinued website (Q60457486) and suggest a new property? --Lockal (talk) 07:35, 2 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

A majority of the community went to Curlie but yes, DMOZ is defunct. —Justin (koavf)TCM 08:44, 2 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

That's a tricky question. The thing is Curlie not only has the Dmoz's database, but also the editors are the same. I prefer to stick to the status quo in the naming conventions as for now. There is still a slight possibility that the community would somehow acquire the dmoz trademark and domain from the previous commercial owner. eugrus (talk) 09:49, 1 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
