elcome to Zephyr! Zephyr is a portal, designed to help locating the available books, journals and other material in the catalogues of the Greek Academic Libraries. It offers a user friendly environment and its structure is based on the Z39.50 protocol.

Zephyr was created by the Information and Technology Services Unit of the University of Crete Library. The basic concept during planning and implementation was to make an integrated environment for bibliographic information search and retrieval, using the databases of the Greek Academic libraries. Emphasis was given to the development of advanced services to the users such as registering for their Zephyr personal page, in order to be able to save selected searches and records etc

The project was implemented within the program "Developing Digital Collaboration of the Greek Academic Libraries" (Libraries Horizontal Action, 3rd Community Support Framework Program, 2000-2006)
